How to
Play
The object
of the game is to form words in the twelve blank spaces at the
top of the game window. Words are formed by clicking on the
letters located in the lower portion of the window. A letter
can only be used if there are no other letters above it. Letters
disappear as they are used, making the ones below them available
for play.
Once a word
is formed, press ENTER to clear it and proceed to the next word.
If you
reach the point where no more words can be formed then press
the END GAME or NEW GAME button. If you have one of the ten
best scores then you'll be prompted to enter your name into
the high score list. If two scores are the same then the one
with the best time will be ranked the highest.
Scoring
The game
score is shown in the toolbar. The first number shown is the
total accumulated score. The second number shows the number
of points that will be awarded for the current word, assuming
that the word is valid.
Each square
is worth the number of points indicated below it. A three letter
word would be worth 1 + 2 + 5, or a total of 8 points. Bonus
points are awarded for matching the colored tiles to the colored
bonus squares. Bonus squares either double, triple, or quadruple
the number of points for the given square when matched to the
corresponding letter color.
An additional
500 bonus points are awarded if all the tiles are used.
Tips
Letters
can be quickly located in the grid by holding down the corresponding
key on the keyboard. The STAR tile can be used as a wild card.
It can be used in place of any letter.
